THE DISCIPLESHIP PROCESS

THE DAILY ROUTINE

It is exciting to wake up and put Christ first in your daily life. When Jesus becomes a part of your daily routine, you will bear much fruit. We are here to help you get into a routine and to hear the Holy Spirit speak to you, putting you in a conversation with Him. Also, turning you into a person of prayer.

  • Dear God Letter
  • S.O.A.P -a style to study the Word of God and how to apply it to your life.
  • A.C.T.S. Model prayer - learn to pray correctly

DEAR GOD LETTER

A Dear God Letter is not a prayer, but a conversation. It's about writing to Jesus about all the challenges, concerns, frustrations, but also the dreams and celebrations, and things you're thankful for every day.

This process will provide a way through any emotional and mental challenges by pursuing an everyday relationship with Jesus Christ.

John 10:27 -"My sheep here my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Dear God,

I have no idea what I'm doing and what I am supposed to be doing in my life. I cannot seem to do anything right, and I continue to fall short. I cannot live right without your help and guidance, Lord. Renew my thinking and what I desire so that I may live accordingly to the Word of God.

S.O.A.P. BIBLE STUDY

WHAT DOES S.O.A.P. MEAN?

S– The S stands for Scripture- you physically write out the scripture……you’ll be amazed that what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write out what you are reading!

O– The O stands for Observation- what do you see in the verses that you’re reading? Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you? Observe the verse. Before and after. write down what you are seeing and reading.

A– The A stands for Application- this is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take? Write your application from an 'I' and 'me' perspective.

P– And finally P stands for Prayer- Pray God’s Word back to Him. Pray and ask God to make His Word a part of your journey. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.

Studying God’s Word like this can take as little or as long as you have time to give. Some days it can take just 10 or 15 minutes, other days longer. It's a matter of EFFORT and putting Christ 1st in your daily routine.

A.C.T.S MODEL PRAYER

This method of prayer serves as an outline or guide for prayer so you can organize your thoughts and requests. The acronym ACTS stands for adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. This model of prayer prioritizes our time with God so we first approach Him with reverence (adoration), then repent of the sin in our life (confession), then express our gratitude to Him for all He has done (thanksgiving), and finally submit to Him our requests. Praying for others, and for ourselves (supplication).
